Charlie Smith, BVI Kite Jam Founder & Partner,played a key role in bringing Kite Jam to life. He in fact was kite boarding with Sir Richard Branson in South Africa when the idea for BVI Kite Jam was conceived. Along with Scotty, he is now spearheading logistics for Kite Jam 2010 competitions and events in and around the BVI.

Stephen Wilson, a.k.a. Scotty, has been with the BVI Kite Jam team since its inception. In addition to being Kite Jam’s Events Director & Partner, Scotty has been heading up Logistics and Watersports at Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island, Virgin Limited Edition since 2006.

Abby has branched out into several fields since returning to the BVI after studying and working in the UK for the last ten years. These include, Event Management, Green Technology Distribution in the BVI and most recently Motion Picture & Television Development & Production.

Richard Branson was born in 1950, and educated at Stowe School, where he established a national magazine called Student at the age of sixteen. He started a student advisory service centre aged 17 to help young people. In 1970 he founded Virgin as a mail order record company and shortly after opened a record shop in Oxford Street, London. During 1972, a recording studio was built in Oxfordshire where the first Virgin artist, Mike Oldfield, recorded “Tubular Bells” which was released in 1973.
