Competitors must be of an intermediate level to compete in this event, meaning fully independent, able to keep up wind and perform a basic trick.

Lessons are not provided by the BVI Kite Jam but can be arranged locally through Carib Kiteboarding, however, with many of the world’s top professional kiteboarders attending there will be opportunities to join technique clinics with them at no extra charge. Some of the world’s leading kite brands will also be on hand to showcase and demonstrate their latest 2010 equipment lines at each location.
